Billa 2's box-office status in TN

Billa 2, despite getting a lot of mixed reviews from critics and fans alike, has opened very well thanks solely to Ajith's star power. His fans thronged theaters on all the 3 days of the opening weekend and the average theater occupancy was an astonishing 95%. Considering the fact that there are no comedy elements, duets, romance track and other popular mainstream elements, with sole focus on bloody action, this opening gains more prominence. The supporting cast is also new to Tamil cinema.  

The film, according to sources, has netted 19 crores over the opening weekend in TN alone, after considering the tax cuts. The figure for the rest of the world is yet to arrive. On the whole, Ajith has lived up to his 'King of Opening' tag yet again unfailingly and his fan following continues to grow by leaps and bounds.
